Why I started a lifestyle Instagram
For those of you who have been around for a while, you may already know that I recently made a lifestyle Instagram in addition to my blogging Instagram @Paperandaplan. For those of you who are new or may have just stumbled upon my blog, paperandaplan is a blog based on helping girl bosses stay productive in their everyday life. Productivity has always come easily for me, and I started realizing that for others it wasn't as easy. So I thought blogging would be a fun way to spread the knowledge, especially since I love writing. Little did I know that people would be so into it. My little blog is still growing and it means the world to me.
As paperandaplan.com grew, I found myself wanting to do more. I have a lot of topics I'm interested in, and I always wanted a space to share my life and what I'm into. Like.... everything. I looked at influencers like @itsroxyJames and immediately fell in love with their vision and their content. I wanted to do something like that for myself. They always shared ways to make life easy and I genuinely enjoyed watching that style of video. Their editing was perfect, their instagrams were inspirational, and I couldn't get enough. I always thought I had a super boring life... so like... how was I gonna make a lifestyle Instagram. That's when it really hit me.
I am just a regular 21 year old girl.
Most of the people on Instagram that you see are going to 5 different countries for vacation, getting new makeup every week, or are able to live some super expensive lifestyle. While that'll all get you way more popular, I truly don't think it's necessary to be successful in that niche. There will be people out there who truly enjoy following the lifestyle of someone because they genuinely enjoy the content. If I some day become popular and I end up being able to live a better life style then by all means. Buuuut for now at least.. my life isn't always super exciting. To be honest 75% of the time I'm sitting on my bed. I'm literally doing it while typing this blog post out on my phone. Eventually (after I finish redoing my room) I want to be able to show some of that too. Not just the exciting things that happen. I don't want to limit the content I post on this account. I don't want to limit what I can post to my blog. As a matter of fact I'm in the process of trying to make another blog just for that. Or maybe just a section on my existing blog. We'll see how I wanna do it.
Another huge reason as to why I started a lifestyle Instagram was because I felt as though people followed my blog and my productivity Instagram and didn't really know much about me. Of course they liked what I do, and liked my content. However I still felt like that trust factor and that getting to know the face behind the brand part was totally missing. Could I have added that onto my existing account ? Sure. Did I want to ? Not really.
Most people say to keep that stuff separate anyways. So I did. I figured that it would also grant me more opportunities for collaboration with other brands that I love, and other people as well. I wanted something that wasn't limited in scope. This was it.
I hope to bring more videos to my YouTube after some serious time off. I hope to bring more blog posts to the table, and more inspiring content. If you want to follow me along on my journey I'll leave my lifestyle info below ! Feel free to check it out and follow if you're interested. I'd love to have you as part of the growing family.
Thanks guys ! And until next time, I'll catch you later.
